new new new!

I finally got done with updating my website! I added tons of new illustration and made another section called "characters." I like the overall look, so happy, so "candy like" (that's what my professor said anyways haha) and I learned a lot of new tricks on Dreamweaver! teatrio and news paper.

This Friday was the opening for the TEATRIO exhibition in Savannah GA. So far, this exhibition has been to Italy, Mexico and Atlanta. My work was selected as one of the top 30 in this competition (and a special mention!.) I have already been to the opening in Italy so the exhibition was nothing new but it was weird to see them in a different gallery. Everything looked darker than what I saw in Italy... probably because of the lighting. Anyways, it was nice to actually see the artwork travelling all over the world. Lucky artwork. I wish I could travel with it.

On the other hand, the illustration I did for GPA (Georgia Ports Authority) got into the Chronicle newspaper. This was done in Getting Published class, and I knew I had an interview with the Chronicle people about the project. But I didn't know they were going to put my illustration on the front page! It was a pleasant surprise:) More surprising thing is that I am apperantly a MAN in this article...haha. "Shiho" is a common girl's name in Japan but not in America... hmmm what can I do about this in the future?

leave behind

In my self promotion class, I had to create a "leave behind" and since I had already designed a mousepad last quarter, this time I designed a sticky note cube. I did a mockup and it looks good so I am happy!
