SI: Cell phone hero

This week's Saturday Illustrations topic was about how mobile users are at risk of ID theft. Things people should do to prevent that from happening is to have a password for the phone or don't store any personal information. So this illustration is my take on the topic. I searched for american comics for the color reference. It was so much fun I might read some american comics now! any good comic suggestions?

SI: Traffic jam heart attack!

This week's topic for Saturday Illustrations was about people who are in traffic jam are more at risk of getting a heart attack. It triples the chances for woman, old people and unemployed. I don't drive anymore but I still remember driving to Atlanta and sitting in the traffic jam for an hour. It was frustrating... and I usually started singing. Oh good memories...!
Anyways, this is the illustraiton I came up with. I used the colors I would NOT use normally, but I think it still looks like my illustration...:)

water color

I haven't touched watercolor stuff in ages! Last weekend I had a "art party" with my friend. She did acrylics and I got into watercolor-ing. I'm not sure what this is but it was a fun project to work on. Making art purely for myself is very therapeutic:)

Saturday Illustrations: Kepler on a mission!

So I am very very very excited to join Saturday Illustration which is a blog about 4 illustrators (currently) try to come up with an illustration for the topic every Saturday. Topic is current events so we practice our skill to prepare for the real illustration job. This week's topic was about Kepler. He is a planet-hunting telescope out on a mission to find species that are like us somewhere else in the universe! How romantic! Well, my illustration is not so romantic but...! By the way, notice the three-eyed rubber ducky? Yea, my obsession with rubber ducky never dies!

SCAD Alumni show!

I received these images from Yukiko few days ago. She was kind enough to take pictures of the 30/30 exhibition in Savannah, GA. I wish I was there for the reception night but I had to work...:( Since this exhibition is in the illustration department, all the illustration major students are watching my work. I wonder what they think about mine? Maybe shocked because of the obvious nudity? Or thought it was funny? Ahhh I wish I was there! Thank you Yukiko for taking the pictures!
